Privacy Policy

The short version
To use PayJuntos you create an account (email and password, or Google sign-in), and the groups and expenses you enter are stored in your account on Google's Firebase platform so they're available whenever you sign in. We show no ads, use no analytics or tracking SDKs, and never sell your data. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address (from email sign-up, or from your Google account if you use Google sign-in) and the authentication identifier Firebase uses to recognize you.
- Your content — the groups and participants you create, and your expenses (amount, title, payer, date, split, optional category), together with the computed balances and settlement history.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, advertising identifiers, or app-usage analytics.
How and where your data is stored
Your account is managed by Firebase Authentication and your content is stored in Google Cloud Firestore — both part of Google's Firebase platform, acting as our data processor. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and encrypted at rest on Google's infrastructure. Because it lives in your account, your data is available on any device where you sign in.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase (Authentication + Cloud Firestore) — stores your account and content on our behalf. Google's handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev, sourced from the European Central Bank) — PayJuntos fetches public currency exchange rates to convert multi-currency expenses. These requests contain no personal or expense data.
We do not use advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
No ads, analytics, or tracking
PayJuntos contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party tracking SDKs. The only third-party components are Firebase (to run your account and store your data) and the exchange-rate lookup described above.
Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. See the account-deletion page for the exact steps. We complete verified requests within 30 days; any residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within a further 90 days. Uninstalling the app removes it from your device but does not delete your account or the data stored in it.
Sharing
When you tap an action that shares text (for example, an invite or a summary), your device's standard share sheet opens and you choose where it goes. PayJuntos does not send that content anywhere on its own.
Children
PayJuntos is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children.
Permissions
- Internet — used to sign you in, sync your data with Firebase, and fetch the exchange rates described above.
Changes
If a future version changes what we collect or how we use it, this policy will be updated and the change described here before that feature ships.
